Gerhardt continues to participate in solo and group exhibitions. Over recent years these included the Ottawa Mini print Biennale, a one man show at the Office of Public Works Heritage Centre in Phoenix Park ,Dublin, Ranelagh Arts Centre group exhibitions, including Intra Conti Irish /Italian paintings and also showed at Black Church Print Studios and the Green Design Build Centre. In 2015 he was hosted by Hettie Black for a one man exhibition of Etching and dry-point etchings at Barista's in Sandymount. His and sculptor Liam Kelly's works were curated by Tony Strickland for an exhibition of oil painting and wood sculpture at the Sol Gallery, Dawson St., Dublin and he exhibited with other print artists in the Dunlaoire fine arts exhibition . He was invited to exhibit at the Enter into Art print exhibitions in Koenigswinter and Rhineland cities in 2106-18. Other venues in the same period included Impressions Print Biennial, Galway and the VUE Art Fairs at the RHA in 2017 and 2018. 2018 saw a sad start to the year for Gerhard t as his beloved wife and partner for many years,Miriam respected author and playwright passed away on 15th January. Later, in September he had a very successful one man show of oils and prints ,'Ways and Byways ' during the Ranelagh Arts Festival ' in her memory.

 

His book 'Verbindungen - Connections , Irish/German Perspectives through Etching ( Cambridge Scholars Publishing) co- authored with Gisela Holfter and Micheal O'Haodha continues to evoke interest and gave rise to an intriguing e - correspondence on the works of his grandmother,Margarethe Gerhardt a painter and etcher of the north German landscape, c1900-40, the subject of the book and another 'Gerhardt ' woman  painter and etcher working in Germany in the same period. His 'Tall Ships' watercolours shown in 2011 at the Greyfriars Municipal Gallery, Waterford are now part of the Municipal collection.One of his works featured in their Winterscape excibition.

He has served on the Ranelagh Arts Centre visual arts group since 2006 until its closure in 2018. He continues working on his prints in Black church Print Studios, Temple Bar as a full time member and to undertake commissions of prints and paintings which are available to view at his Ranelagh Studio in Beechwood Avenue,Dublin.
